5 Days Djibouti Halal Tour

Title: Halal trip to the Fourth Holiest city of Harar and Bale Mountains

Accommodation: Hotels and Lodges

Day 1: Travel to Harar (Fourth Holiest City)

After the prayer of Fajr you will start driving to Awash where you will have a halal breakfast. After breakfast, you will drive to Asebe Teferi to have halal lunch and pray to Zuhr and Asr at a nearby Mosque. While driving to Harar you will have a stop at the field of Chelenqo and get explanations from your guide. When arriving in Harar you will check-in to your hotel. You will have halal dinner and head to Hyena feeding.

Overnight stay at Rawda Guesthouse or similar, Harar.

Day 2: Harar

After praying Fajr in the walled city and having a halal breakfast at your Guesthouse, you will start visiting the walled city of Harar. You will experience walking in the narrow streets. You will see a traditional Harari House, Arthur Rimbaud House, Ras Tafari’s House, Holy Savior Church that was formerly a Mosque and the neighboring mosques like you have never experienced before. Pray Zuhr and Asr and have halal lunch. After lunch, explore the city of Harar.

Overnight stay at Rawda Guesthouse or similar, Harar.

Day 3: Travel to Dire Dawa

Pray the Salah of Fajr. Have halal breakfast in Harar. After breakfast, drive to Dire Dawa. After you check-in to your Hotel, proceed visiting the city of Dire Dawa. In Dire Dawa you will visit La Gare train station and shop from Taiwan Market. You will also get the opportunity to try the famous sweets of Al-Hashmi sweets. Pray Zuhr and Asr at Jami Mosque and have lunch at a Halal restaurant. Continue exploring the city. Have halal dinner.

Overnight stay at Samrat Hotel or similar, Dire Dawa.

Day 4: Travel to Awash

Pray Salah of Fajr and drive to Awash. Check in to your hotel in Awash and Have a halal breakfast at Awash. You will visit Awash National Park and the Awash falls. Have halal lunch at Awash National Park Lodge and pray to Zuhr and Asr. After a full day visit at the park and the waterfalls, you will return back to your Hotel.

Overnight stay at Genet Hotel or similar, Awash

Day 5: Travel to Bale Goba

After the prayer of Fajr you will travel to Bale Goba. Have a halal breakfast at Asella. Get tickets and acceptance from the Dinsho office. Check in to your hotel in Goba.

Overnight stay at Wabe Shebele Hotel, Goba

Day 6: Visit Bale Mountain National Park

Pray Fajr and have halal breakfast at Goba. Drive to Bale Mountain National Park. Full day trekking and sightseeing of Bale Mountain National Park, Sanetti Plateau, and Harenna Forest. In the middle of the day you will have a halal lunch at Bale Mountain Lodge after praying Zuhr and Asr at one of the villager’s houses while enjoying a traditional coffee ceremony.

Day 7: Visit Dire Sheikh Hussein

Pray Fajr and have halal breakfast at Goba. Drive to Dire Sheikh Hussien Mosque, a site of magnificent groups of buildings, monumental tombs and courts representing the early medieval period of Islamic architecture and buildings of significant engineering qualities. It was founded by the Islamic Saint known as Sheik Nur Hussein. He was one of the Nine Islamic venerated saints who entered Ethiopia (from South Arabia) along the eastern route via the walled city of Harar, which was recently inscribed as the World Heritage site of Ethiopia. Within the compounds and courts of Dire Sheik Hussien, there are huge and magnificent mosques, shrines, residential buildings, artificial water ponds and other cultural spaces of Islamic religious processions and diverse ritual practices. You will have a full day visit at the shrine, mosque and tombs. Then, return back to Goba overnight.

Day 8: Visit Sof Omar Cave

Pray Fajr and have halal breakfast at Goba. Then, Drive to Sof Omar Cave,  one of the world’s most spectacular and extensive underground caverns. The weib river, which sources from the Bale Mountains National Park, penetrates the caves year round, offering a magnificent view to the visitors. Sof Omar is an extraordinary natural phenomenon of breathtaking beauty. At 15.1 kilometres long, Sof Omar Cave is the longest cave in Ethiopia and the largest system of caves in Africa, through which the Weib River flows. You will  approach the Sof Omar caves through the tiny village of Sof Omar, perched on the cliffs above the Web River. To the rear of the village is a dark, gaping crevice down which a precipitous narrow footpath winds to the first cave’s floor. Only a few patches of sunlight filter into this dimly lit kingdom, which extends in all directions through vast subterranean passageways of polished white limestone, carved by the river’s flood and recess over countless ages. Finally,You will have a halal lunch at Robe, pray Zuhr and Asr at a mosque. Return back to Goba.

Overnight stay at Wabe Shebelle Hotel or similar, Goba.

Day 9: Return back to Addis Ababa

Pray Fajr and have halal breakfast at Goba. Drive to Adama (Nazareth) and have a Halal Lunch. Pray Zuhr and Asr in Adama.Along the road you will get the chance to observe Landscape and lifestyle of the Oromo People. You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon where you can visit some mosques in the city. Finally the tour ends with a drop off at Bole airport or your hotel.
