CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

Job Position Title: Senior Communication Officer

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Communication Officer to support the development and delivery of effective communication across digital, print, and internal channels. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, eager to learn, and passionate about public engagement and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and posting content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Support the preparation of newsletters, reports, and press releases.
  • Help maintain and update the organization’s website and other communication channels.
  • Take part in organizing promotional events and campaigns.
  • Collect stories, photos, and testimonials from the field for communication use.
  • Maintain media and stakeholder contact databases.
  • Monitor and report on media coverage and social media engagement.
  • Support internal communication efforts with basic design, posters, and notice updates.
  • Perform other communication-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field. 5 years of relevant experience . Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in both English and Amharic. Basic understanding of social media management. Familiarity with Canva, basic photo editing.

Finance Manager: 

Anbessa Travel is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations at Anbessa Travel. You will ensure compliance with Ethiopian GAAP/IFRS and tax regulations, drive strategic financial planning, and optimize internal controls. Your expertise will support sustainable growth through accurate reporting, risk management, and cross-departmental collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate financial reports compliant with Ethiopian GAAP/IFRS and ERCA standards.
  • Develop and monitor financial policies, internal controls, and procedures.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Oversee daily operations: AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and cash flow.
  • Ensure statutory compliance (VAT, income tax, pension, withholding tax).
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury functions, and liquidity planning.
  • Conduct financial analysis to guide business decisions and cost control.
  • Coordinate external audits and ERP system improvements.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members (Senior/Junior Accountants, Cashiers).
  • Report directly to the General Manager

Qualifications Education & Certification:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification (strongly preferred).

Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

 Senior Sales, Marketing and Business Development Officer 

Anbessa Travel is one of the leading tour operators, car rental, and travel management companies with over 13 years of experience in the industry. We are expanding our travel and event management services and are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Event Sales and Business Development Officer to join our team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve organizational targets for event sales and business growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the event, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and corporate travel sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and industry partners.
  • Train and mentor the sales team to enhance performance and meet sales objectives.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and provide regular reports to senior management.

 Event Planning & Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute corporate events, conferences, weddings, and other special events.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements, budget, and expectations.
  • Source and negotiate with vendors (venues, caterers, decorators, AV teams, etc.) to ensure high-quality and cost-effective event services.
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue setup, transportation, accommodation, and on-site coordination.
  • Ensure seamless execution of events while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise before or during events.

Marketing & Market Research:

  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze market data to identify growth potential and areas for improvement.
  • Work on digital marketing strategies (social media, email campaigns, SEO) to promote event services and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, proposals, and event portfolios.
 

Customer Relationship & Retention:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to improve service quality and client experience.
  • Develop and execute customer retention strategies, including loyalty programs and follow-up engagements.

Reporting & Strategy:

  • Prepare and present sales reports, event performance reviews, and business forecasts to senior management.
  • Recommend innovative strategies to expand the company’s event and travel services. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management, Business Administration, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in event sales, business development, and event planning, preferably in travel, hospitality, or event management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in organizing successful events and achieving sales targets.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM tools, and event management software is a plus.
